As Mayor of the Town of Pouch Cove, I welcome you to our community. Our Town is very hospitable and offers much for visitors, such as hiking trails, kiddies park, berry picking, outdoor swimming, whale watching, the Marine Park with swimming/ outdoor activities and a Museum of our history. Cape St. Francis is the site of the former lighthouse and has wonderful scenic view of our coastline. Come join us for part of your vacation and have a wonderful time.

SNOWBALL 2012
Submitted by pouchcove on Wed, 2012-02-01 12:09B and L General Contracting and Pouch Cove – Flatrock Recreation present Síochána appearing live at the Flatrock Community Centre on Saturday, February 18, 2012. Síochána are known for their tight harmonies and high energy shows and play a mixture of Traditional Newfoundland, bluegrass, Celtic, folk and some old rock and roll music. Tickets are $15 each and can be purchase at Cape Town Convenience (Pouch Cove) and Wilkinson’s Convenience (Flatrock). Tickets will also be available to purchase at Flatrock and Pouch Cove Town Halls on Saturday, February 11th from 12 -2 pm.
Gentle Gym
Submitted by pouchcove on Tue, 2012-01-31 14:24Pouch Cove - Flatrock Recreation would like to advise residents that we have a new program starting on Wednesday, February 8, 2012. Gentle Gym is a low impact aerobic program that includes stretching, low impact cardio, follow by conditioning with weights, and abdominal exercises. This program will be held at All Saints' Parish Hall on Wednesday's from 12:30 - 1:30 pm. There is a $5 fee per session.
Cardio Strength Training

strength with an added cardio benefit to maximize your calorie burn!
Taught by Neala Emerson, Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist,
and Physical Exercise Specialist for the Canadian Forces, this class
will help you reach your fitness potential and teach you a solid
foundation of exercise technique. This new circuit training class is
adaptable to all levels of fitness or experience so you can work at the
pace best suited for you. You'll also be provided with an at home
workout circuit to continue towards your fitness goals and get the
results you want.
As an introductory added bonus, the Cardio Strength Training sessions
will include weekly nutritional and health challenges to point you in
Little Dreamers Preschool Playgroup

2012 Killick Coast Games
Submitted by pouchcove on Fri, 2012-01-06 15:48Residents are advise that the 2012 Killick Coast Games will be hosted by the Town of Loby Bay - Middle Cove - Outer Cove from August 26th to August 30th.
Killick Coast Games are open to youth between the ages of 11 and 17 (within the calendar year).

Indoor Walking Program

Walking sessions are held every Tuesday and Thursday at All Saints' Parish Hall from 10 -11 am.

Zumba Fitness with Charlie
Submitted by pouchcove on Thu, 2012-01-05 17:08Pouch Cove Recreation is please to advise residents that Zumba will be returning on January 16th. Sessions will be held at All Saints’ Parish Hall during the following times:
Monday Nights - Zumba Moderate 7 -8 pm
(January 16th to March 5th – 8 weeks)
Thursday Nights – Zumba Moderate/Zumba Toning 7:30 -9 pm
(January 19th to March 8th – 8 weeks)
Registration
Residents have two different options to register for Zumba:
(1) Residents can stop by the Regional Recreation Coordinator’s office during normal business hours (8:30 am to 4:00 pm) and complete the registration form and wavier.
(2) Residents can download and completed the attached registration and waiver form and forward them on to pouchcoverecreation@hotmail.com or drop them off at the Regional Recreation Coordinator’s office.
Registration will occur from Monday, January 9th to Friday, January 13th. Registration will be done on a first come first served system will a limit of 40 individuals per class.
